CareFirst also is affiliated with two physicians groups – Potomac Physicians, Practice Association, an association of 550 independent primary care physicians who serve more than 40,000 prepaid HMO members and fee-for-service patients in the Baltimore/Washington area, and Patuxent Medical Group, a group physicians practice providing care in the Columbia, Maryland area since 1969.
