Members can select health care coverage tailored to their specific family or individual needs through a combined offering of our BlueChoice and BluePreferred products. Nearly 140,000 new members chose CareFirst for their health care coverage in 2002, bringing total enrollment to more than 3.24 million in Maryland, Delaware, Northern Virginia and the District of Columbia. CareFirst ranks among the largest of the 42 independent, locally operated Blues Plans in the nation.
